Kids Class Rules

Welcome to Our Kids BJJ Program!

We’re excited to have your child on the mats with us! To create a fun, safe, and respectful environment for all students, we’ve put together a set of simple rules for both parents and kids. These guidelines help ensure that every class runs smoothly and that all students get the most out of their training.

Please take a moment to review the rules below with your child. With teamwork between coaches, kids, and parents, we can make every class a positive experience for everyone!

Parents Rules

  1. Arrive Early to Class
Please arrive early so we can start on time.

  2. Hygiene
Ensure your child practices good hygiene, wears a clean gi and belt, and has trimmed fingernails and toenails.

  3. No Coaching
Do not coach any child. You are not qualified to do so, and bad advice may lead to injury.

  4. Stay Off the Mat
Parents are not allowed on the training area during class.

  5. Respect the Coaches
Trust the coaches to lead the class and handle discipline or corrections.

  6. Illness
If your child is sick, keep them at home. Do not bring coughs and colds into the gym.

Kids Rules

  1. Respect Everyone
Treat everyone with kindness and be polite.
  2. No Footwear on the Mats
No shoes, flip-flops, or socks on the mat.
  3. Listen to Your Coach
Follow all instructions. Ask questions only when your coach has finished speaking.
  4. Tap
If you’re uncomfortable or want to stop, tap your partner.
  5. Stay on the Mat
Do not leave the mat without informing your coach.
  6. No Striking
BJJ is a grappling martial art. Punching, kicking, elbowing, kneeing, biting, slapping, etc. are strictly forbidden.

Important Notice

To maintain a safe and respectful training environment for all students, we reserve the right to remove any student or parent from the program if they consistently disregard the rules, disrupt classes, or behave in a way that puts others at risk.

We’re committed to creating a positive experience for everyone, and that means holding ourselves — and each other — to high standards of conduct, on and off the mats.
